Maryland Electricity Deregulation

On July 1, 2006, all Maryland Standard Offer Service (SOS) electricity supply rates, (the tariff rates offered by all investor-owner utilities in Maryland), dramatically increased. PEPCO, Delmarva, Allegheny and Baltimore Gas and Electric, (BG&E), standard offer electricity supply rates have increased for commercial customers, depending on rate class, by as much as 45%. Fortunately for Maryland businesses, Good Energy has several ways to avoid the SOS electricity supply rate increases. To identify these money-saving opportunities simply download our Maryland letter of authorization and follow the included directions.

The image below shows the geographical boundaries of the Maryland electric service territories. If your Maryland business is located in the Baltimore Gas and Electric, (BGE), Delmarva Power and Light Company, Allegheny Power or the Potomac Electric Power Company, (PEPCO) electric service territory, Good Energy can help reduce your electricity supply costs.
